El americanismo de los independentistas como fuente de nacionalismo

Abstract

Los héroes de nuestra Independencia lo son por su valentía al haber entregado su vida para darnos patria, pero también porque fueron revolucionarios al haber aportado elementos para conformar la identidad de la nueva sociedad, lo cual hicieron con la propuesta de construcción de la gran patria América y del americanismo como singularidad de nuestro nacionalismo. Lo anterior se respalda en el ideario que formularon durante sus años de lucha enmarcándolo con sus antecedentes y el forjamiento de la tradición posterior.

The heroes of our Independence are defined by their courage, not only because they sacrificed their life in order to grant us our fatherland, but also because they were revolutionaries by contributing with factors that formed the identity of the new society, under the premise of building America, the great fatherland, and Americanism as a marker of our nationalism. This is supported by the ideology they formulated during their years of struggle, framing it between their background and the creation of the subsequent tradition.
