| Resumen : | El rompimiento del yugo colonial que dio origen a las repúblicas del continente americano fue un paso importante para la marcha de la libertad en el mundo. Pese a este significativo logro, desde entonces a la fecha se ha perdido territorio, soberanía política y poder económico y se ha avanzado poco en la afirmación de la identidad cultural y la inclusión de los indígenas y mestizos. El presente artículo analiza tales aspectos a la luz del Bicentenario de la gesta independentista y propone una nueva independencia basada en la lucha por la dignificación humana. |
| Abstract : | Breaking off colonial rule, which was at the origin of the republics of the American Continent, was an important step toward the spread of freedom worldwide. Despite this significant achievement, from then to now territory, political sovereignty and economic power have been lost, and little has been gained in regards to the affirmation of cultural identity and the inclusion of indigenous and mestizo peoples. This article analyzes these areas under the light of the Bicentennial of the fight for independence and it proposes a new [fight for] independence based on the struggle for human dignity. |
