Abstract

In this article, reflections and comments are made about the figure of Magda Portal, one of the most outstanding women of the 20th century in the literary and political life not only of Peru but of Ibero-America. On June 4, 1981, in the framework of the Fourth Inter-American Congress of Writers, she was designated Writer of the Americas, in recognition of her poetry and literary writings, her struggle in favor of women and her active participation in politics throughout more than half a century He is, therefore, a personality in the world of ideas and Ibero-American politics that has prompted him to reflect on his testimonies, his militancy and, especially, his action in the case of the murder of Antonio Miró Quesada, editor of the newspaper El Commerce of Lima.
