José Vasconcelos, Maestro de la Juventud de América (1882-1959)

Abstract

The issue of this article is the work developed by José Vasconcelos about culture and education. The center of his projects was the human race and the education also to correlate matters like the school, the book, the reading and the library. The vision of Vasconcelos about Mexico and the formation of the Mexican people in comparison with the other countries of Latin American made him support and create cultural organizations and institutions that changed the profile of a postrevolutionary country, establishing the education as the center of the development. Its project extended to a Latin American continental scope through the cultural embassies, reason why Vasconcelos is considered Educator of the American Youth.
