Alejo Carpentier, la Revolución Mexicana y la Revolución Cubana

Abstract

Las relaciones de Alejo Carpentier con algunos intelectuales mexicanos facilitan explicar la convicción de que la Revolución Mexicana fue herencia para los participantes en las revoluciones cubanas de 1930 y 1953. Iniciada en 1910 y extendida hasta el sexenio 1934-1940, con la repartición de tierras a los campesinos, la nacionalización de la industria petrolera y la reactivación de las políticas educacionales y culturales, la Revolución Mexicana y sus repercusiones políticas y sociales en la colonia cubana requieren meditaciones específicas. En el presente trabajo se ha optado por centrar el análisis en las tradiciones ilustradas de ambas comunidades de intelectuales.

The relations between Alejo Carpentier and some Mexican intellectuals make it easier to explain the belief that the Mexican Revolution was an inheritance for the participants of the Cuban revolutions of 1930 and 1953. Beginning in 1910 and extended through the six-year term 1934-1940, along with the distribution of land among peasants, the nationalization of the oil industry and the reactivation of educational and cultural policies, the Mexican Revolution and its political and social repercussions on the Cuban colony require specific reflections. In this article, one has opted for centering the analysis on the illustrated traditions of both intellectual communities.
