Recuerdos polémicos : memorias y testimonios durante conflictos bélicos en Guatemala

Abstract

El presente artículo reflexiona en las manifestaciones de la memoria después de un episodio violento como la guerra. Desde la autobiografía hasta el testimonio, vistos como recuperación y sistematización de recuerdos, nuestro interés se centra en dos representaciones que cuentan con protagonistas diferentes debido precisamente a lo diverso de su expresión. El tiempo transcurrido entre lo vivido y lo recordado da forma a estas remembranzas no exentas de conflicto. Como forma declarativa que atañe a los propios sujetos, recuperamos las palabras de mujeres en torno de un momento específico de sus vivencias en la Guatemala del siglo pasado.

This article reflects on the manifestations of memory after a violent episode such as war. From the autobiography to the testimonial, viewed as the recovering and systematization of remembrances, our interest focuses on two manifestations featuring differing protagonists due, precisely, to the diversity of their expressions. The time elapsed between what was lived and what is remembered gives shape to these remembrances, which are not free of conflict. In their declarative form, pertaining to the subjects themselves, we retrieve the words of women, uttered around a specific moment of their experiences in last century’s Guatemala.
