La conquista de América y la construcción de la Modernidad occidental

Abstract

El artículo aborda lo que es el humanismo que surgió en el siglo XVI, tal vez el mayor logro de la Modernidad, que tuvo en el hombre de América la prueba decisiva para admitir la alteridad, la diversidad étnica y religiosa, como algo inherente a la comunidad humana.

In this article the author explores the concept of humanism that arose in the 16th century, perhaps the greatest achievement of Modernity, which had in the American man the decisive test for the acceptance of otherness, ethnic and religious diversity, as inherent to the human community.
