Perversão e trauma : impasses da política peruana contemporânea

Abstract

O objetivo deste texto é situar os impasses da política peruana atual em perspectiva histórica recente. Nos anos 1980, a conjunção entre a crise econômica sob o governo García (1985-1990) e a violência perpetrada por Sendero Luminoso precipitou a divisão e o declínio da esquerda, fecundando terreno para o regime fujimorista (1990-2000). A consequente degradação política resultou em uma situação na qual nenhum presidente elegeu seu sucessor, ao mesmo tempo em que o campo popular ainda não coagulou uma alternativa política nacional, em uma situação que explicita a rejeição ao neoliberalismo e também as dificuldades para confrontálo.

The purpose of this text is to situate the impasses of contemporary Peruvian politics under the perspective of recent history. In the 1980’s, the conjunction between economic crisis under García’s government (1985-1990) and the violence undertaken by Sendero Luminoso has contributed to the division and decline of the left, leaving the stage set for Fujimori ?s regime (1990-2000). The following degradation of politics has resulted in a situation where no president has elected his sucessor, but at the same time, a national political alternative from a popular perspective has not emerged yet, which points to an impasse that makes explicit both the rejection to neoliberalism and the difficulties to overcome it.
